تعيين الروسي ألكسندر إيفانكو ممثلا أمميا خاصا للصحراء الغربية

أعلن الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنتونيو غوتيريش الجمعة عن تعيين الروسي ألكسندر إيفانكو ممثلا خاصا له للصحراء الغربية ورئيسا لبعثة المينورسو.

وأوضح المتحدث باسم الأمين العام الأممي ستيفان دوجاريك، خلال مؤتمر صحفي، أن إيفانكو سيخلف الكندي كولين ستيوارت، “الذي عبر الأمين العام عن امتنانه لعمله المخلص وإدارته الفعالة لبعثة المينورسو”.

وقال دوجاريك إنه “كرئيس لمكتب المينورسو منذ سنة 2009، يتمتع إيفانكو بخبرة أزيد من 30 عاما في الشؤون الدولية وحفظ السلام وفي مجال الصحافة”.

وبدأ إيفانكو مساره المهني في الصحافة، حيث عمل كمراسل لإحدى الصحف الروسية في أفغانستان والولايات المتحدة، كما شغل منصب كبير المستشارين لدى منظمة الأمن والتعاون في أوروبا من 1998 إلى غاية 2005.
