ملايين جرعة من لقاح ضد كورونا منحة فرنسية لإفريقيا

أعلنت الرئاسة الفرنسية أن باريس سترسل 10 ملايين جرعة من لقاحي "أسترازينيكا" و"فايزر" المضادين لفيروس كورونا المستجد، إلى القارة الإفريقية، خلال الأشهر الثلاثة المقبلة، وذلك بموجب اتفاق شراكة مع الاتحاد الإفريقي.

وتنص الشراكة بين فرنسا والاتحاد الإفريقي على أن الجرعات سيتم منحها وتوزيعها في إطار الصندوق الإفريقي لاقتناء اللقاحات وآلية إتاحة اللقاحات على الصعيد العالمي "كوفاكس".

وأوضح بيان للرئاسة الفرنسية أنه "لا يمكن التغلب على الجائحة إلا من خلال التعاون المكثف بين الجهات الفاعلة متعددة الأطراف والإقليمية والوطنية".

وأكدت  الرئاسة الفرنسية أنه "تم بالفعل شراء ما يكفي من اللقاحات كجزء من آلية الاتحاد الإفريقي للسماح بحلول سبتمبر 2022 بتلقيح 400 مليون شخص، أي ثلث سكان إفريقيا، من قبل الدول الإفريقية، بتكلفة 3 مليارات دولار".

وكان الاتحاد الإفريقي وضع آلية مشتريات جماعية لتمكين الدول الأعضاء من الحصول على كمية كافية من اللقاحات لتلبية ما لا يقل عن 50% من احتياجاتها، وهي الآلية المكملة لآلية "كوفاكس" الهادفة إلى توفير نسبة 50% المتبقية من خلال الهبات.
