في تطور جديد.. برلمان "إيكواس" يدعو لرفع العقوبات عن النيجر

دعا نواب المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا "ايكواس" رؤساء دولهم إلى إعادة النظر في العقوبات المفروضة على النيجر، بعد الإطاحة بالرئيس محمد بازوم.

وفي مواجهة الصعوبات اليومية الناجمة عن العقوبات التي فرضتها الجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا على النيجر، طالب برلمانيو "الإيكواس" برفع العقوبات.

وبعد مرور ما يقرب من أربعة أشهر على سقوط الرئيس محمد بازوم، يشهد النيجر انقطاعات يومية في التيار الكهربائي، ويزيد من معاناة الشعب النيجيري ارتفاع أسعار المنتجات الغذائية بسبب التضخم، وهذا الوضع هو نتيجة الحصار الذي فرضته المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا في أعقاب الانقلاب. وقد تم استنكار هذه العقوبات من قبل السكان منذ أسابيع.

من جهتهم، دعا برلمانيو المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا رؤساء دول المؤسسة شبه الإقليمية إلى تخفيف هذه العقوبات، وهو نداء رسمي أطلقه البرلمانيون خلال أعمال الدورة العادية الثانية لسنة 2023 المخصصة للموازنة.

 

وكتبوا أن "شعب النيجر أراد التخفيف من الصعوبات الاقتصادية والتحديات الإنسانية الناجمة عن حظر العلاقات التجارية، وتجميد حسابات البلاد في البنوك المركزية الإقليمية من قبل رؤساء دول المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا".

 

ووفقا لهم، يتعين على زعماء المجموعة أن يأخذوا في الاعتبار الوضع الإنساني والسياسي في النيجر، التي تعتمد بشكل أساسي على جيرانها، على سبيل المثال نيجيريا، في إمدادات الكهرباء.

 

وقررت السلطات العسكرية في النيجر الاستئناف ضد هذه الإجراءات. وهكذا نظرت محكمة العدل التابعة للإيكواس، يوم الثلاثاء 21 نوفمبر، في أبوجا، في شكوى مقدمة من النيجر ضد رؤساء دول المؤسسة الذين فرضوا عليها هذه العقوبات.

 

ومن المقرر إجراء مداولات الولاية القضائية للمجموعة في 7 ديسمبر، قبل ثلاثة أيام من مؤتمر رؤساء دول المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب إفريقيا المقرر عقده في 10 ديسمبر.
