ناسا ترصد أطنانا من الغبار الملون فوق موريتانيا

قالت وكالة الفضاء الأميركية ناسا، إنها رصدت أطنانا من الغبار الملون فوق موريتانيا، ونشرت صورة حديثة من الفضاء للساحل الموريتاني على الأطلسي عنوانها “غبار ملون في سماء موريتانيا”.

وقالت إن الرياح "ترفع مئات الملايين من الأطنان من الغبار من المناظر الطبيعية الجافة في شمال إفريقيا كل عام، مما يدفع سحبًا ضخمة من جزيئات المعادن الصغيرة فوق المحيط الأطلسي."

وذكرت أن البحيرات والأنهار الجافة هي مصادر رئيسية للغبار الجوي لأن تبخر الماء عادة ما يترك وراءه جزيئات دقيقة الحبيبات خفيفة بما يكفي ليتم رفعها، كما أنها تميل إلى افتقارها للنباتات، مما يجعل الجزيئات عرضة بشكل خاص للتآكل والنقل.
