الأمم المتحدة: تفاقم الجوع الشديد يهدد دولة مالي بسبب الصراع المسلح

قالت الأمم المتحدة إن تفاقم الجوع الشديد يهدد دولة مالي المصنفة ضمن مناطق البؤر الساخنة لسوء التغذية في العالم.

وأوضح التقرير الأممي أن مالي -إلى جانب جنوب السودان- من الدول التي تعتبر بؤرا تستدعي أعلى درجات القلق، حيث تواجه مجتمعاتها بالفعل خطر المجاعة، أو مستويات كارثية من انعدام الأمن الغذائي. الحاد بسبب تصاعد النزاعات أو استمرارها.

ووفق التقرير الأممي؛ فقد تسبب الصراع المسلح في مالي إلى ارتفاع أسعار الحبوب، ونقص المحاصيل الزراعية، الأمر الذي جعل حوالي 2600 شخص يواجهون خطر الموت جوعاً.

وحسب معايير الأمم المتحدة؛ لا تُعلن المجاعة إلا إذا عانى 20 بالمائة على الأقل من سكان منطقة ما من نقص حاد في الغذاء، و30 بالمائة من الأطفال من سوء تغذية حاد، مع وفاة شخصين من كل 10 آلاف يوميًا بسبب الجوع أو أمراض مرتبطة به.
