ونشر موقع "مترو" البريطانى، تقريرا عن 3 أشياء مهمة تحدث للجسم عند التوقف عن تناول اللحوم الحمراء والتوقف عن إدخالها ضمن نظامك الغذائى، وهى:

1- فقدان الوزن: فقد أثبتت الدراسات وخبراء التغذية أن اللحوم ترتبط بزيادة الوزن، كما أشارت دراسات أخرى إلى أن الوجبات النباتية الأفضل لفقدان الوزن.

2- ستكون رائحة جسمك أجمل: حسبما جاء فى التقرير أن أكل اللحوم له تأثير على رائحة الجسم، وينتج عنها رائحة كريهة، لأن اللحوم الحمراء صعبة الهضم عن الأغذية الأخرى، ويصبح الجسم فى مهمة شاقة حتى يتم هضمها وعندما يحدث تعرق للجسم تظهر رائحة غير جيدة.

3- تقلل من خطر الإصابة بسرطان الأمعاء: وفقا لتقرير أصدرته منظمة الصحة العالمية العام الماضى تم تصنيف اللحوم الحمراء والسجق ولحم الخنزير، على أنها من الأطعمة المسرطنة، ومرتبطة بخطر الإصابة بسرطان الأمعاء، وثبت أن المركبات التى تعطى اللحوم اللون الأحمر تؤدى إلى تلف بطانة الأمعاء، وأظهرت دراسة أمريكية فى 2015 أن الأشخاص النباتيين لديهم مخاطر أقل للإصابة بسرطان القولون والمستقيم عن غيرهم بنسبة 22%.
