البنتاغون يسلم الكونغرس بحلول مساء الثلاثاء تقريره حول اغلاق غوانتانامو

أعلنت وزارة الدفاع الامريكية (البنتاغون) الاثنين انها ستسلم الكونغرس بحلول مساء الثلاثاء تقريرها المنتظر بشدة حول اغلاق معتقل غوانتانامو.

وقال المتحدث باسم الوزارة جيف ديفيس “كما فهمنا فان الموعد النهائي هو غدا، ونحن نعتزم احترامه”.

وكان الرئيس الامريكي السابق جورج بوش أمر في 2002 بفتح المعتقل الواقع في معسكر غوانتانامو الامريكي في جزيرة كوبا، وذلك لاعتقال المشبوهين في اطار “الحرب على الارهاب” التي أعلنها اثر اعتداءات 11 ايلول/ سبتمبر 2001.

وفي 2003 وصل عدد السجناء في غوانتانامو إلى الذروة مع 680 معتقلا، لكن هذا العدد ما انفك يتراجع ليصل اليوم الى 91 معتقلا بينهم 34 تمت الموافقة على نقلهم الى دول ثالثة، في حين ان الباقين سيظلون قيد الاعتقال لفترة غير محددة إما لانهم يعتبرون خطرين جدا او بانتظار محاكمتهم.

وفي العام الماضي أرسل البنتاغون فريقا من الخبراء لتفقد المواقع التي قد تكون صالحة لسجن هؤلاء المعتقلين بعد اغلاق السجن العسكري. والتقرير المنتظر احالته الى الكونغرس الثلاثاء سيتضمن التكلفة المقدرة لسجن هؤلاء في كل من هذه المواقع.

ومن بين المواقع المقترحة سجن “كونسوليديتد نافال بريغ” في تشارلستون (كارولاينا الجنوبية، جنوب شرق)، وسجن فورت ليفنوورث (كنساس، وسط)، والسجن الفدرالي الخاضع لإجراءات أمنية مشددة في فلورانس (كولورادو، غرب).

وفي السجن الاخير تعتقل الولايات المتحدة مدانين بالإرهاب من امثال رمزي يوسف، العقل المدبر لاعتداءات مركز التجارة العالمي في 1993 وزكريا الموسوي الفرنسي المدان بالتورط في اعتداءات 11 ايلول/ سبتمبر وجوهر تسارناييف المحكوم بالإعدام في اعتداءات بوسطن في 2013.

وكان يفترض بالبنتاغون ان يسلم تقريره هذا الى الكونغرس قبل نهاية 2015 ولكن هذا الامر تأخر لرغبة البيت الابيض في ان تكون تكلفة الاعتقال المقترحة أقل.

وتعهد الرئيس الامريكي باراك اوباما اغلاق سجن غوانتانامو عند توليه مهامه في 2009، لكن جهوده تعرقلت في الكونغرس تكرارا.
